Dear faithful Explorer,
For a while now, I have pondered what to write. Many great topics have come up, yet I couldn't bring myself to write. So, I decided to sit down and think about why that was. Surprisingly enough, I found my answer—I want to give more than one point to talk about. More than one thing.
The first thing that comes to mind is favoritism. It something we should be careful not do. The bible speak clearly about this in James 2:1-9 and the two I would like to highlight is the beginning and end:
"My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism." (James 2:1)
"But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers." (James 2:9)
We must be careful to not show it among ourselves. To love everyone as Christ has loved us. I personally was looking over my own heart because someone had brought it up. I was taken aback by it but understood and was encouraged because the reason why they brought this up is for those who are among our family who need encouragement.
Which is one thing I love to do! I kid you not, it always brings me joy when I can encouraging someone to grow in their faith towards God. Which bring me to my next topic!!!
Encouragement is something we all need to stay faithful to God and to grow. It helps with a lot of things. When someone knows that someone cares for them. We as disciples should imitate Jesus by encouraging each other to stay faithful with the scriptures.
One that I know playing a tune in my heart and truly encouraging to my bones is John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
As I write this I tell you now I'm encouraged for this scripture is powerful! God say he gives us peace and if you are worried don't be! Instead take whatever is weighing on you to God! I myself have allowed myself to worry and become emotionally unavailable because I didn't see the benefit in pouring myself out. Every time I did I would be hit with a wall.
So I paused... Jeremiah 19:11-14 came up so many times that I truly lost count. A scripture that moves me closer to God even in my lowest moments. God has a plan and he has already spoken about what he desires! Yet, we can all ignore him without realizing it sometimes or try to rush him to make things happen-which in turn will leave to discouragement. Philippians 4:4 "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" do not allow the world or the devil steal you joy away from you. Rejoice. Be patient and let God do things through his timing specially when he has already answered you telling you that he will make it happen.
Encouragement is important to stay faithful and so is love. God is love and he says in Matthew 27:37-39 Jesus replied: " ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’"
The last point of today's lessons is love. This scripture says
Love God
Love yourself
Love other as you love yourself
If you don't love yourself you will find it difficult to love others and you will hit wall after wall.
I have heard people says that they love people but not themselves and that they hate themselves and that is not the heart we should have. We need to love everyone as Christ love us.
I am silent in person depending on my surroundings and what is happening not due to any other than trying to listen, understand, love, and encourage. Sometimes I truly have nothing to say and sometimes I might be afraid to speak but like I wish to encourage you I'm encouraging myself to take in the scriptures and not be afraid. Let's close out here with Ephesians 4:29 "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." and Luke 12:12 "for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say."
Thank you for reading have a bless day!
