Belonging

God created us with this sense of wanting to “belong” to somebody or something because he predestined us to belong to Jesus, yet we go through life trying to fill the void of “belonging” with other things like relationships , wild parties, drugs or sex, none of these things give us the satisfaction of belonging but Why not ?

Ephesians 1:5 says:

“He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will-“

so God wired us with this longing in efforts to draw us to him because nothing else will satisfy that longing but him.

The enemy will try to tempt us emotionally making us doubt Gods intention and love for us which leads us astray and back to a place of searching for other things that accept us and make us feel like we belong.

I’ve always longed to fit it , to feel accepted and I’m tempted to still feel that way but when I met Jesus that longing was fulfilled and I realized that he chose me before the creation of the world to belong to him.

—but although we are pre elected to be adopted into Gods family it doesn’t nullify the call for the heart to respond.

We have to make the decision to want to belong to God and his kingdom here on earth. Ask yourself: will you respond to the call that God wants you to know you belong to him?
